Economic Growth for Cook County

  • Growing Cook County’s economy with a balance of supply side and demand side economics
  • Creating capital, job growth, and productivity
  • Cook County’s budget was sustainable until the state budget gap impacted on county government revenues, forcing spending cuts and causing the county to create new revenues through taxes. Large corporations are fighting these taxes in the courts and the media, despite the fact that these same corporations caused this state budget gap by paying less than two billion in income tax per year, while the middle class and working poor paid 23 billion in the same period
